5 Steps to Superboost Your Blog Comments by Frank Bella

For many affiliate marketers their blog is the control center of all of their internet marketing efforts. It is a great tool for the marketer to leverage. Since that is the case, it is important that your blog is full of content. You want to engage and attract visitors through quality content.

The key word is “engage”. If you manage to engage your readers and get them to interact, they are much more likely to come back to your site. Not only that, they are significantly more likely to purchase one of your offers. One of the easiest ways to interact with your readers is through comments. WordPress is the perfect platform for this, because it has built in comment capabilities.

Comments are effective for a couple reasons. First, like we mentioned, it encourages reader engagement. This is a way to keep people coming back to your site. They now feel invested in it, like they are part of the site. Secondly, is that Google seems to favor sites that get a lot of comments. The thought is that comments show that a blog post is relevant since it is getting so much feedback.

Anyone who regularly blogs, wants to encourage comments. The benefits are worth it, and in general it makes a blog looks more popular and professional. If you aren’t getting as many comments as you want, here are a couple ways to boost your comments.

1. Take a Stand - This tactic can backfire too so be careful. Take a semi-controversial stand on something. I wouldn’t go all out and tackle race or abortion, but maybe something niche related. For example, a couple years ago I made a post supporting noFollow backlinks. It got a lot of comments. Yes, some people disagreed but their comments still opened the path of communication between us. Remember, whether people agree or disagree with you, they will still be inclined to comment.

2. Reply To Comments - Until your site is just overwhelmed with an interesting community constantly commenting, make sure you reply to all of your comments. This will hopefully keep the conversations going. It will also show your readers that you value their input.

3. As a Question – In your post title – ask a question. One of my more recent posts that went semi-viral asked “How Do I Switch Back To The Old Facebook Photo Viewer?” besides the post getting a ton of views, I got some great feedback in the comments. In fact someone answered how to do it, and I added that advice to my post.

4. Create a List – You have seen huge lists of tips and resources on blogs before. I am sure of it. Have you noticed that these get a lot of comments usually? This is especially true if at the end of the post, you ask your readers for their input. Again, you end up with people commenting, plus their input can be added to your list so at the same time you build a great traffic target.

5. Make it Easy - Make your comment area as easy and inviting as possible. Make sure you choose a theme that has the comments show up right under the post. You should also consider WordPress plugins like DISQUS and COmmentluv, which make commenting more valuabel to your readers. In general, make it as easy and rewarding as you can to comment.

Comments have a lot of value on blogs. Creating a community through your comments can be a great step to online success. Follow the steps outlined above and your comments will definitely pick up. If you want your evenues to pick up - read more here: eProfits
